Tour description

Walk through the streets, houses and mansions of the traditional El Prado neighborhood and finish with a visit to the Carnival Museum to learn about its history, dances, instruments and emblematic costumes.

What are we going to do?

You will learn about the history of Barranquilla and its traditional neighborhood El Prado in a walk where you can appreciate its mansions, built more than a century ago, accompanied by a local expert who will tell you the anecdotes and stories of this heritage area of the country.

During the tour you will be surprised to find a replica of the recreational house of the famous filmmaker Charles Chaplin or where Gabriel García Márquez spent time hosted by his intellectual friends, you will also see mansions of different architectural styles that recognize the cultural imprint left by immigrants from all over the world who came to our city.

Finally, you will visit the Casa del Carnaval, the official headquarters of the most important celebration in the country, and visit the Museum to learn about this celebration through its dances, instruments and typical costumes, which also includes an exclusive collection of the most exotic (and luxurious) dresses of some of the queens of the Carnival of Barranquilla.
